The nation is still inspired by Atalji’s life and philosophy: Rajnath Singh

During the inauguration of the ‘Atal Yuva Mahakumbh,’ which was held to mark the centennial of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh gave a speech about the remarkable character of the former prime minister and the pleasant memories that are connected to him.

In light of Atalji’s grandeur, he stated that generations of people are still motivated by his life and philosophy. Additionally, he praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his tireless efforts to propel Uttar Pradesh’s progress.

“The distinguished Atalji had a commanding presence that left a lasting impression on the world,” Rajnath Singh said in his speech. He was a remarkable leader who was renowned for his ability to make decisions. Atalji had a particular place in his heart for Lucknow, and he was very close to its people.

He recounted a number of stories that demonstrated Atalji’s humor and rapid thinking. Singh recalled a famous incident that happened during Atal Ji’s visit to Pakistan: “Atal Ji, with his trademark smile, joked, ‘I’m ready if you give me the entire of Pakistan as dowry,’ when a woman journalist proposed marriage on the condition that he would give Kashmir as a dowry. This response demonstrated to the world his intelligence and witty sense of humor.

“I was fortunate to work alongside Atalji as a colleague in the Cabinet and to experience his paternal affection,” Singh continued, sharing personal experiences. His famous statement redefined democracy and patriotism when his government was overthrown by a single vote. He was known to say, “Governments may come and go, parties may rise and fall, but the nation and its democracy must always be safeguarded.” The sentence perfectly captures his deep vision and unwavering values.

The children’s cultural performances and tableaux, which portrayed important events in Atalji’s life, were also praised by the defense minister. As he put it, “Atalji’s ideas and contributions remain a beacon of guidance for the youth.” He described them as an inspiration to the younger generation.

Rajnath Singh praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, saying, “Uttar Pradesh now surpasses other states on a number of development metrics. The state is reaching new heights and realizing Atal Ji’s vision for a forward-thinking Uttar Pradesh under CM Yogi’s imaginative and unwavering leadership.”
