Maha Governor receives the Assembly Election Gazette from the State CEO and ECI Dy Commissioner

Hirdesh Kumar, the Deputy Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India, and S. Chockalingam, the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra State, paid a visit to Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Sunday, November 24. They carried copies of the ECI’s notification to Raj Bhavan Mumbai as well as the Gazette listing the names of the members elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

On November 23, the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly general election results were announced. In accordance with the Election Commission of India’s notification on November 24, 2024, the names of the elected candidates were published in the Maharashtra Government State Gazette. This was carried out in accordance with the guidelines in Section 73 of the 1951 Representation of People Act.

Copies of the aforementioned Gazette carrying ECI’s notification were given to the governor by the State Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra and the Deputy Election Commissioner of ECI.

In attendance were Section Officer Niranjan Kumar Sharma from the Election Commission of India, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Manohar Parkar, Secretary, ECI Suman Kumar Das, and Additional Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Kulkarni from the office of Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra State.
