NC, Congress legislature party meetings in Srinagar to discuss govt formation
INN/Chennai, @Infodeaofficial
The National Conference (NC), which emerged as the only party with 42 elected MLAs, is convening as a legislative party today in Srinagar to discuss government formation with the Indian National Congress and CPIM, its pre-poll alliance partners. The Legislature Party’s leader will also be chosen during this conference.
Attending the gathering are all of the elected members of the North Carolina Legislative Assembly as well as the independent lawmakers who have joined the party. It is a given that Omar Abdullah, who has won from two assembly constituencies, will be elected without a challenge as the leader of the Legislature Party.
In the meantime, the AICC (I) observers are travelling to Srinagar today to chair the Congress Legislature Party’s meeting for the purpose of choosing the CLP leader. They will also talk about the matter of the government’s formation with the NC. Five seats in Kashmir and one in Jammu have been won by the Congress. The CPIM secured one seat in South Kashmir from Kulgam.
The Alliance partners will choose their joint leader, who would serve as the next Chief Minister, following the election of the leaders of the legislature parties in both NC and Congress. Once more, Omar Abdullah will be the principal pick of the alliance partners to fill the position of chief minister.
