Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu instructed the government on Tuesday to develop plans for building a well-known Deep technology building in the capital, Amaravathi. The Chief Minister, who is presiding over a review meeting on the new IT policy at his office in the State Secretariat, is adamant that the current generation’s future is entirely dependent on cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and deep technology. Keeping in mind that he had constructed HiTech City Hyderabad at the time to advance information technology, a Deep Technology iconic building is now vital to take advantage of the potential presented by the newest technological advancements.
The Chief Minister gave the officials instructions to create plans for the installation of five lakh workstations in the state by 2029 and ten lakh by 2034. Chandrababu Naidu also instructed the officers on co-working spaces, putting IT firms under power tariffs, obtaining licenses through a single-window system for basic utilities, and providing the requisite land on subsidy for building multi-story office complexes.
As part of the Start-Up policy, Chandrababu also instructed the officials to devise plans to provide seed capital up to Rs 25 lakh each to women, minorities, BCs, SCs, and STs. To support the growth of the state’s innovation and startup ecosystem, the chief minister also gave the officers instructions on how to establish five innovation hubs that would be connected to the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. He is certain that 25 IITs be connected to the five zonal hubs in Central Andhra, Rayalaseema, South Andhra, Godavari, and North Andhra, and that the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub serve as a hub for these hubs.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials to work towards giving young people jobs and advised the district collectors to find a suitable location for the workstations. Additionally, he informed the administrators that all workstations must have skill upgrades in order for the young to fulfil their future needs.
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of developing the skills of the young people in the State’s rural areas, noting that although they possess a wealth of information, they are unable to advance because they lack the requisite skills. Additionally, the State Government has separated the subsidies for IT company developers into three categories.
If the company should be eligible to acquire the requisite subsidies for co-working space it should either have 100-seating capacity or should have an office building which has a size of 10,000 square feet. In a similar vein, the neighbourhood workspace should have 1,000 square feet of office space or 10 seats. The ultimate strategy is being developed to provide subsidies to businesses with a minimum of 100 employees or a revenue of Rs 30 cr. Mr. Nara Lokesh, the Minister of IT and Human Resources, also shared his thoughts on the new IT policy.
