Sawangkaew and Krunic Make an Impressive Show at the L&T Mumbai Open; Marino Cruises Into Round of 16

The L&T Mumbai Open WTA 125 Series at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai saw a lot of excitement and spills on day three. Saskatchewan’s Sahaja Yamalapalli lost to Lanlana Tararudee, while Canada’s second seed Rebecca Marino easily advanced to the round of 16.

With a dominant performance, Canadian Rebecca Marino easily defeated Sara Bejlek of the Czech Republic, 6-0, 6-2. Marino easily advanced to the Round of 16 with her strong groundstrokes and commanding serve, solidifying her status as a potential champion.

In a different Round of 32 match, Mananchaya Sawangkaew of Thailand defeated Dalila Jakupovic of Slovenia 6-3, 6-1, with a solid performance. Jakupovic struggled to establish a foothold in the match due to Sawangkaew’s aggressive play and tactical accuracy.

Aleksandra Krunic of Serbia also made an impression, defeating Petra Marcinko of Croatia 6-4, 6-2, thanks to her experience. Krunic won by a wide margin thanks to her consistency and superb shot selection.

Sahaja Yamalapalli of India, however, lost against Lanlana Tararudee of Thailand and was unable to maintain hopes at home. Even though Yamalapalli put up a strong fight in the second set, she lost 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.

Results: Mananchaya Sawangkaew (Thailand) defeated Dalila Jakupovic (Slovenia) 6-3, 6-1; Aleksandra Krunic (Serbia) defeated Petra Marcinko (Croatia) 6-4, 6-2; Sahaja Yamalapalli (India) lost to Lanlana Tararudee (Thailand) 6-3, 4-6, 6-1; Rebecca Marino (2nd, Canada) defeated Sara Bejlek (Czech Republic) 6-0, 6-2.
