The Bihar Asian Champions Trophy Rajgir 2024 Semi-Final match between India and Japan is likely to be an exciting event. Both teams advanced to the Semi-Final by putting on strong performances throughout the tournament, and tomorrow they will square off in front of the lights to determine which team advances to the Final on November 20.

With a perfect record of 15 points from 5 games, India has been in incredible form and is leading the group stage. They have only given up two goals while scoring an incredible 26. Japan, meanwhile, scored six goals and let up nine goals to finish fourth in the group stage with five points. India won 3-0 in their most recent meeting, which took place on November 17.

“As soon as we step off the bus, Neha gets everyone dancing, and it completely transforms the mood,” Salima said, revealing the team’s attitude ahead of the Semi-Final match. Even though we are not close to her, we all strive to follow her example, and this small gesture inspires the team as a whole. We smile as we take the pitch, and the outcomes are self-evident. Although we had a difficult match against Japan in the group stage—they are a formidable team—we have confidence in our teammates and our preparation. We’re committed to performing well in the Semi-Final as well.

With Deepika leading the way with an incredible ten goals in the first five games of the competition, the hosts have been playing at full capacity thus far. Sangita Kumari has contributed four goals and been involved in the attacking line as well. Japan is renowned for having a well-organised defence, which put India to the test for an hour and a half in their last meeting. And with two goals, Miyu Hasegawa leads all Japanese goal scorers.

“The Semi-Final and the pool matches are two different spheres of influence.” Every team has their own plans, and Japan is a strong opponent, so we will undoubtedly encounter some opposition. However, we must perform our research and see where we might generate additional opportunities. Focussing on our game and playing the way we want to play is more crucial. All of this is part of the process to develop a new style of play and enhance our decision-making with an eye towards the World Cup and Olympics in the long run. The team is performing well so far, and we intend to maintain that momentum tomorrow,” said Chief Coach Harendra Singh.

The winner of this competition will go to the final, where they will play the winner of the other Semi-Final match between Malaysia and China on November 20. India and Japan are prepared for a tough match because a position in the final is at stake. At 4:45 PM IST on November 19, India will play Japan in the Semi-Final of the Bihar Women’s Asian Champions Trophy Rajgir 2024.
