In an effort to empower and encourage girls, the Indian Army held the Kho-Kho interschool ladies’ event in Kupwara
Girls’ KHO-KHO Tournament at COL Santoshi Mahdik Inter School, Kupwara

The Indian Army (41 RR) held an Inter School females Kho-Kho event at Galzoo Stadium in Kupwara as part of their ongoing efforts to empower and develop girls. The competition took place on a knockout format from September 11–13, 2024. Eight teams in all have entered the competition.
On November 13, 2024, at Galzoo Stadium, Govt Middle School and Sadiq Memorial School, Kupwara, faced off in the Inter School Girls Kho-Kho Tournament Finals. With a score difference of 20–14, Govt Middle School, Kupwara prevailed in the thrilling final.
Both military and governmental authorities were present during the occasion. To watch the finals, every participating school has joined. Every squad took part with a lot of energy and passion. Throughout the event, the Indian Army and the school provided a lot of encouragement and support for the girl students, which led to the schools’ active involvement.
The top three teams received coveted trophies and medals, while other participating teams received awards. All things considered, the competition was a huge success, and the female students showed a “Never Give Up” mentality. The occasion will significantly contribute to the empowerment and advancement of women in Kupwara.
