Despite a difficult challenge, Team India surpasses Brazil and advances to the Kho Kho World Cup knockout stages

At the Kho Kho World Cup 2025, Team India defeated Brazil 64-34 on Tuesday night in an exciting demonstration of strategic skill. Both teams displayed remarkable skill in the match, which had fans on the edge of their seats at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. India ultimately proved their mettle in a thrilling conclusion to Day 2 of the competition.
Brazil got out to a strong offensive start against India, scoring 16 points, but Team India rallied. The Germans had a strong start to the match in Turn 2 after earning two points during a Dream Run that kept the Brazilians off balance.
The Men in Blue upped the ante while attacking the Brazilians in Turn 2, which was a really remarkable turn. India’s primary attackers, Rokeson Singh, Pabani Sabar, and Aditya Ganpule, guided the team to a commanding 36 points at the end of Turn 2. But in Turn 3, Brazil rallied back just when it appeared they were fleeing with the same.
In Turn 3, Brazil put a lot of pressure on India thanks to players like Joel Rodrigues, Mauro Pinto, and most notably, Matheus Costa, who scored six touchpoints. After putting in a lot of effort, the team managed to rally and score an outstanding 34 points in response to India’s 38, which created an incredibly thrilling final seven minutes of play.

Indian Women Create History with 157-point Demolition of South Korea in Kho Kho World Cup
In a show of supremacy, the Indian women’s Kho Kho team defeated South Korea 175-18 in their tournament opener prior to their triumph over Brazil. With back-to-back Dream Runs from Chaithra B and Meeru, the Women in Blue, captained by captain Priyanka Ingle, set the tone early and neutralized South Korea’s first ten touchpoints. Then, in less than two minutes, the explosive combination of Nasreen Shaikh, Priyanka Ingle, and Reshma Rathod won four ALL OUT matches.
Throughout all four Turns, the attack persisted, with Meenu scoring an outstanding 12 points through Other Dives and Reshma Rathod getting six touchpoints. Team India had a commanding 94-10 lead after eliminating 16 batches by Turn 2. The Women in Blue kept up their intensity the entire time, holding South Korea to just eight points in their second innings and scoring three more points via Dream Run in Turn 3. Best Player Nasreen Shaikh led India to a decisive win at the end of the match, while Nirmala Bhati and Esther Kim of South Korea were named Best Attacker and Best Defender, respectively.
