Andaman & Nicobar wins three road cycling medals at the 2025 National Games, while SSCB wins two

On the first day of the Road Cycling finals, Andaman and Nicobar had a fantastic performance, winning three medals: gold, silver, and bronze. On Monday, the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) won two medals: one gold and one silver. Players from seven different states took home the remaining seven medals.

In the Women Elite Scratch 10km race, Keerthi Rangaswamy C of Karnataka took home the gold medal. Chayanika Gogoi of Assam won the silver medal in the 10-kilometer race, while Meenakshi of Haryana took home the bronze. Sahil Kumar of SSCB took home the gold in the 15-kilometer Men’s Elite Scratch Race. The silver and bronze medals were won by Adwaith Sankar SS of Kerala and Krishna Nayakodi of SSCB, respectively.

With a time of 12.745 seconds, Shweta Balu Gunjal of Maharashtra took home the gold in the Women’s Elite Sprint. After completing the two circuits in 12.848 seconds, Celestina of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands took second position and took home the silver medal. Delhi’s Triyasha Paul won the bronze medal with a time of 12.799 seconds. With a time of 12.567 seconds, Maharashtra’s Agashe Shushikala Durgaprasad came in fourth. She was just a few milliseconds away from winning a well-earned medal.

Asian Games The gold medal in the Men’s Elite Sprint competition went to David Beckham. The player from Andaman and Nicobar finished on the podium with a time of 10.691 seconds over two laps. Laitonjam Ronaldo Singh of Manipur, his opponent, finished the race in 10.724 seconds and took home the silver medal. With a time of 10.826 seconds, Esow from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands won the bronze medal. At the 2025 National Games, the top three male cyclists from India won the Men’s Elite Sprint competition.
