According to Prashanth, President of the Devaswom Board, there will never be a circumstance when a devotee returns without receiving darshan.

s per the recent government directive, darshan can only be made via online reservations. Prasanth stated yesterday at a news conference in Thiruvananthapuram that the requirement for online reservations is still in place since it protects both the pilgrims’ and the temple’s security. There would be a 16-hour day during darshan hours. Devotees are permitted to enter from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presided over an earlier meeting where it was confirmed that online reservations would be required, with a daily cap of 80,000 guests. Opposition, however, has voiced considerable disagreement with this decision. Leader of the opposition V D Satheesan asked the government to reevaluate their choice regarding space booking.

V Muraleedharan, a BJP leader and former union minister, stated that it is intolerable that the government has undue influence over the Sabarimala pilgrimage. He stated that the government’s role is to make the necessary provisions for pilgrims, not to exert control over them.
