In order to assess important infrastructure projects around India, the Network Planning Group (NPG) held its 83rd meeting today, which was presided over by Rajeev Singh Thakur, Additional Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

With an emphasis on improving multimodal connectivity and logistics efficiency in line with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS NMP), representatives from the project proponents, Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG-N), and nodal officers from the corresponding States took part.

Based on PM GatiShakti’s tenets—integrated multimodal infrastructure development, last-mile connectivity to social and economic hubs, intermodal connectivity, and coordinated project execution—the NPG assessed each of the eight projects. By increasing logistical efficiency, cutting down on travel times, and providing significant socioeconomic advantages to the areas they serve, these projects are expected to play crucial roles in national development.

It is anticipated that these projects would make a substantial contribution to India’s infrastructure when they are finished, guaranteeing that the benefits of seamless connectivity reach every area. The government’s strategy for integrated and sustainable growth is in line with these programs, which aim to expand multimodal transport systems and fill important infrastructure gaps.
