For clearing extra rush, Nilgiri summer special trains to be run
S Vishnu Sharmaa, INN/Chennai, @infodeaofficialSouthern Railway will be running summer special trains over Nilgiri Mountain Railway section to clear the extra rush during summer season. According to a press release from the railways, the special trains will be run between Mettupalayam to Udhagamandalam and back.
Train No. 06171 Mettupalayam – Udhagamandalam Express will be leaving Mettupalayam at 9.10 am on 4,11,18 and 25 May and on 1,8,15,22 and 29 June and reach Udhagamandalam at 2.25 pm on the same day.
Train No. 06172 Udhagamandalam – Mettupalayam Express will leave Udhagamandalam at 11.25 am on 5,12,19 and 26 May and 2,9,16,23 and 30 June and reach Mettupalayam 4.20 pm the same day. The composition for the train is two first class and one second class chair car. Kallar, Hillgrove, Coonoor, Wellinton, Aravankadu, Ketti and Lovedale are the stoppages for the train and advance reservations for above special trains has opened at
8.00 am on 16 March.
