DMRC GETS CERTIFIED AS A CARBON NEUTRAL LINE -4 (BLUE LINE)

INN/New Delhi, @Infodeaofficial

A major step forward in the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s efforts to provide sustainable urban transport and to combat climate change has been reached with the accreditation of Line -4, which runs from Yamuna Bank to Vaishali in Ghaziabad, as Carbon Neutral. This accomplishment demonstrates DMRC’s dedication to mitigating climate change and lowering its carbon footprint.

This certification comes after DMRC was successful in the past in obtaining carbon neutral certification for both its staff quarters in Sector-50, Noida, and its corporate headquarters at Metro Bhawan.

By incorporating cutting-edge environmental practices, DMRC is significantly advancing towards carbon neutrality in line with the Government of India’s objective to achieve net zero emissions by 2070.

Through the implementation of numerous environmentally friendly and sustainable initiatives, such as the installation of rainwater harvesting pits, the use of more renewable energy in operations, the adoption of energy-efficient technologies like regenerative braking in rolling stock, and effective waste management systems, DMRC has successfully reduced its carbon footprint.

Beyond merely becoming certified, DMRC wants to set the standard for environmentally responsible operations so that other urban transport systems will be motivated to implement comparable sustainable practices.

In order to provide cleaner air and a more sustainable urban environment for future generations, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is still dedicated to setting the standard for sustainable transportation.
