President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria and President Droupadi Murmu, who arrived on Sunday evening for a three-day visit, will have bilateral talks. When she arrived, there was a formal welcome. President Murmu will have bilateral talks with her Algerian counterpart during her tour, which runs from October 13 to October 15, at the invitation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
During her three-day visit, she is anticipated to receive visits from a number of well-known Algerian dignitaries and politicians, including the presidents of the National People’s Assembly (the Lower House of the Algerian Parliament) and the Council of Nation (the Upper House). President Murmu is scheduled to tour significant historical and cultural monuments in Algeria, including the Martyrs Memorial, Maqam Echahid. In addition, the President will launch the India Corner at Hamma Garden at Jardin d’essai and tour the Roman Ruins and Mausoleum.
Following her arrival on Sunday, President Murmu gave a speech to the Algerian Indian community. She is also expected to speak at the Sidi Abdellah Science and Technology Pole and the India-Algeria Economic Forum. Algeria and India have friendly relations and cooperative efforts in a number of areas, including defence, space exploration, and oil and gas. It is anticipated that the visit will strengthen the two nations’ bilateral relations even more.
President Droupadi Murmu will visit Mauritania on October 16 after wrapping up her tour to Algeria. On October 17–19, she will go to Malawi as part of her final stop. President Murmu will also be visiting Mauritania and Malawi from October 16 to October 19, following her visit to Algeria. This will be the first time an Indian president has ever travelled to three African countries.
A year has passed since the African Union was granted permanent membership in the G-20 during India’s presidency, and the president of India is currently visiting three nations. The President will meet with the heads of state in bilateral sessions while in these nations. He will also meet with influential figures from business and trade as well as the Indian diaspora.
