The third edition of the Global Freight Summit, which began in 2022, got underway in Dubai on November 18. More than 5,000 industry leaders from 155 countries, representing a variety of industries within the global supply chain business, have attended the three-day event, which is hosted by DP World.
The theme of this year’s summit, which runs through November 20, is “Acting today to reach the opportunities of tomorrow.” Four key aspects are highlighted in the agenda: integrating blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) into company operations; managing unstable international markets; implementing sustainable shipping methods; and creating trade routes that are resilient to natural disasters and geopolitical issues.
In addition to hundreds of other businesses and entrepreneurs, the event has attracted a sizable number of Indian firms, including tech behemoths Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and SRM Tech. In the upcoming days of the three-day summit, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, and Royston Braganza, CEO of Grameen Capital India, are expected to take part in panel discussions, further enhancing the Indian presence.
Implementing workable digital solutions while addressing potential obstacles in the technological shift is a major topic of discussion this year. The summit will also look at how companies can adjust to changing trade conditions and customer demands for shipping methods that are ecologically friendly. The development of creative solutions for supply chain diversification and risk reduction in international trade channels will receive particular emphasis.
A full program including interactive seminars, fireside conversations, and keynote addresses by professionals in the field has been organised by DP World. The conference gives business executives, trade associations, and government representatives a forum to establish strategic alliances and have significant conversations.
