During Nepal’s PM’s four-day visit to Beijing, China and Nepal inked a nine-point Memorandum of Understanding

In a meeting with Nepali Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli in Beijing on Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping committed to working to develop a strategic partnership of cooperation with Nepal. In the presence of their respective prime ministers, Nepal and the People’s Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today that relates to cooperation and partnership in eight different sectors, including trade promotion and the exchange of technical assistance.

K P Sharma Oli, the prime minister of Nepal, met with Chinese President Xi Jinping today while leading the country’s delegation to China. Oli’s steadfast dedication to fostering ties between China and Nepal was valued by Xi Jinping. Xi Jinping pointed out that 2025 will commemorate the 70th anniversary of Nepal and China’s diplomatic ties being established. China is prepared to push for new developments in furthering the strategic alliance between China and Nepal and views Nepal as a key player in its neighbourhood diplomacy.

Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli of Nepal was greeted by Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang today at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People. On this occasion, PM Oli was given a “guard of honour” by the Chinese Liberation Army. In addition to signing a nine-point Memorandum of Understanding, Prime Minister Oli met with his Chinese counterpart to discuss a number of bilaterally relevant topics.

In remembrance of the Chinese revolution’s heroes, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli lay a wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument. The chief secretary, foreign minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, the PM’s wife Radhika Shakya, senior government officials, representatives from the private sector, and members of the media make up the entourage. On December 5, the PM-led Nepali delegation would head back home.
