Violence against Hindus in Bangladesh

The government has received multiple complaints of violence against Hindus and other minorities, according to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, who addressed the subject of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh in a written response to the Lower House of the Indian Parliament.
According to him, during the month of August this year, attacks on temples and other sites of worship around Bangladesh have occurred, and their homes and places of business have been looted. Arun Kumar Sagar, a BJP MP from Shahjahanpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh, posed the query.
The government has expressed its concern to the government of Bangladesh and has taken these instances seriously. Dr. S. Jaishankar stated that during the recent Puja celebration in Bangladesh, reports of attacks on temples and puja mandaps also surfaced.
The assault on a Puja Mandap in Taantibazar, Dhaka, and the theft at the Josheshwari Kali temple in Satkhira during Durga Puja this year have caused the Indian government to voice grave concerns. In order to guarantee peaceful Durga Puja celebrations, the government of Bangladesh issued directives for enhanced security measures in the wake of these attacks, including the deployment of the Army and Border Guards Bangladesh.
The Indian High Commission in Dhaka is still keeping a careful eye on the minority situation in Bangladesh. According to the minister of external affairs, the government of Bangladesh bears the primary responsibility for safeguarding the life and liberty of all of its inhabitants, including those who are minorities.
