On the occasion of Navami, thousands of worshippers throng Goddess shrines around Nepal, where they present lambs, he-goats, and cocks as offerings

On this Navami of the Bada Dashain festival, throngs of devotees may be seen in Nepal’s goddess shrines, offering prayers and honouring the goddess. Worshipping and praying to the goddess Navadurga at the goddess shrines during the Dashain celebration is believed to grant one’s wishes.
From early this morning, a large number of devotees are visiting the temples of Guhyeshwari, Bhubaneshwari, Vatsaleshwori, and Jaya Bageshwari in the Pashupati area; additionally, a large number of devotees are visiting the goddess shrines of Maitidevi, Kalikasthan, Bhadrakali, Sankata, Shova Bhagawati, Bijweshwari, Kankeshwari, Raktakali, Shwetkali, Dakshinkali, Naxal Bhagawati, Chamunda mai, Sundari mai, Indrayani, Bandevi, and Bajrayogini in addition to other locations.
In a similar vein, a sizable number of worshippers also travelled to temples outside of the Kathmandu Valley to pay their respects to the goddess at Nala Bhagawati, Chandeshwari, Palanchowk, Palchowk Bhagawati, Kamalamai, Rautamai, Kalinchowk, Pathibhara, Gahawamai, Manakamana, Ichchhakamana, Dantakali, Rajdevi, Chhinnamasta, Gadhimai, Shaileshwari, Bindhyabasini, Bhuwaneshwari, Barahi, Baglung Kalika, Supadeuralu, Bageshwari, and Ugratara. On the festival of Navami, devotees worship and sacrifice lambs, he-goats, and cocks according to their wishes.
