Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is not featured on the new banknotes that Bangladesh Bank (BB) is manufacturing. He is currently featured on all denominations of banknotes in Bangladesh. The central bank of Bangladesh claims that religious architecture, Bengali customs, and “graffiti” depicted during the July revolt are being printed on the Taka 20, 100, 500, and 1000 banknotes.
According to the statement, the new notes should hit the market in the upcoming six months. According to the Ministry of Finance and central bank authorities, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s image will no longer be included on the existing notes, according to United News of Bangladesh (UNB).
According to them, the four notes’ designs are being altered first, and all banknote designs will undergo a phased revision. Executive Director and BB spokesman Husneara Shikha stated that the issue of printing fresh notes has advanced significantly. “Within the next six months, I hope the new notes will be available for purchase.”
