Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry conclave to honour CSR champions

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI), India’s most active bilateral chamber promoting trade relations between India and France is organising the third edition of its flagship IFCCI CSR Conclave and Awards at Delhi on November 24.

Active for the past 45 years, the IFCCI, announced here today that Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani will be inaugurating the Conclave to be followed by the awards gala.

Initiated by the CSR committee of IFCCI, comprising of 60 CSR heads of Indo-French companies, the Conclave aims to recognise and showcase CSR projects of top French companies in India with a focus across five categories based on SDG criteria like Business-based social purpose, innovative CSR initiatives reinforcing the company’s business purpose, Clear theory of change, impact & measurement, and Concentrated efforts including employee volunteering.

The different categories of awards are Education and Skill Development, Environment and Sustainable Development, Healthcare, Livelihoods, Best CSR Project of the Year, IFCCI COVID Recognition Award (Jury Special), IFCCI Philanthropist of the Year (Jury Special).

This year, IFCCI will also recognise the companies that contributed to the successful accomplishment of the French Solidarity Mission for India’s oxygen crisis, caused due to the 2nd wave of Covid-19 at the Conclave.

An eminent jury comprising of business leaders across different industries will be selecting the winners. The jury members are Sumeet Anand, President IFCCI, Payal S.Kanwar, Director General, IFCCI, Anurag Pratap, CSR Leader, Capgemini India, Benoit Gauthier, Head of Regional Economic Department for South Asia, Embassy of France in India, Eric Fajole, Trade Commissioner & Regional Director for India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh, Business France, Jean – Noel Rault, General Manager, Air France, Rinika Grover, Head Sustainability & CSR, Apollo Tyres, and Shankar Ramakrishnan, Head BNP Paribas India Foundation.

An exclusive roundtable in the presence of H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India & Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Hon’ble Minister of Women & Child Development, GOI with select CEOs and CSR Heads of French companies in India will also be held, the IFCCI said.

On the upcoming event, Ms. Payal S. Kanwar, Director General, IFCCI said “This year will witness a very special edition of the CSR Conclave & Awards as it showcases the extraordinary French Solidarity Mission and the overall CSR initiatives by French and Indian companies. Corporate Social Responsibility is a strategic priority for French firms in India and the ongoing efforts during and beyond Covid-19 have been remarkable. We at IFCCI feel fortunate to serve the interests of the French business community in India with events and initiatives like these for almost 45 years now.”
