Telangana BC Commission Chairman on 3 Day study tour to TamilNadu

Chairman of Telangana State BC Commission (TSBC) and his team is on a three day study tour to Tamil Nadu. TSBC Chairman and team met the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin and explained about the purpose behind their visit to the state.

The team also met Chairman of Tamil Nadu BC Commission Justice (Retd) Thanikachalam and its officials  to elicit information about Caste Data Survey methods and other operational aspects.

Dr. Rao and the team showed special interest in material-based pursuance of ‘Legal Litigancy Cases’ filed against the decisions of Government of Tamil Nadu as regards to the question of quantum of reservations for the BCs in HC and Apex Court and complying with the different directions and judgments of Honourable Courts.

The team from Telangana had a detailed discussion about the recommendations of Sattanathan, Ambasankar and Janarthanam Commissions. It enquired about the Justice (Retd) Thiru Kulasekharan headed Quantifiable Commission and set out a framework for it.

It also held discussions with the Principal  Secretaries of Panchayat Raj and BC Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu to understand the implementation process of reservations at the ground and local body reservations based on Caste Data.

Dr. Rao and his team have taken note of the legal and functional aspects of 69% reservations being implemented seamlessly by the Government of Tamil Nadu and said it would allow the TSCBC to develop a robust protocol for its proposed Caste Data Survey. Dr. Vakulabharanam said this three day study  tour was very helpful and paved the way for knowledge sharing between both the states in the southern part of India.
