Mayawati said on Friday that the reservation for OBCs in medical and dental degrees at government universities had been delayed for some time.

Also, she added that her party has demanded that the backlog of reserved-category government positions be filled, but that neither the Centre nor state governments in Uttar Pradesh or other states have heeded its call for action.

On Twitter, the BSP president said in Hindi: “The All-India quota for the OBCs in government medical colleges in the country was announced far too late. However, they now believe that the Centre made this choice in order to suit political interests. “

“BSP has been calling for the filling of SC, ST and OBC quota backlog vacancies in government employment for a long time, but the administrations of different states and even the Centre have been oblivious to the actual interests and welfare of these groups. This is a really regrettable situation, “the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister made the remarks.

From the current academic year, 2021-2022, the All-India Quota Scheme will include a 27 percent quota for OBCs and a 10 percent reservation for economically vulnerable groups.
