DROUPADI MURMU, THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA, Observes Indian Navy Activities in Vikrant

Droupadi Murmu, the president of India, observed the Indian Navy’s operational display at sea on Thursday. Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Vice Admiral Sanjay J. Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, welcomed the President when he landed at INS Hansa (Naval Air Station at Goa) on November 7. A formal ‘Guard of Honour’ consisting of 150 soldiers was also paraded upon her arrival.
The President then boarded the Indian Navy’s 15 frontline warships and submarines aboard the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which was operating off the coast of Goa. President Murmu visited Indian Navy ships at sea for the first time. The role, charter, and operational concept of the Indian Navy were briefed to the president.
Following that, the President observed a number of naval activities, such as the takeoff and landing of fighters from deck, missile fire exercises from a vessel, submarine operations, flypasts of more than thirty aircraft, marine commando operations, and the customary steam-past of warships.
During lunch, the President also engaged with the crew of the INS Vikrant. Her speech to the fleet was then aired to all units at sea.
