On Thursday, 12 Maharashtra BJP MLAs challenged their one-year ban from the state Legislative Assembly for alleged misconduct with the presiding officer in front of a Supreme Court.
After the state administration accused them of “misbehaving” with Bhaskar Jadhav in the Speaker’s chamber, these 12 MLAs were suspended from the Assembly for one year on July 5.
Abhikalp Pratap Singh, an advocate, claimed he had filed the case before the apex court on behalf of these MLAs.
Sanjay Kute, Ashish Shelar, Abhimanyu Pawar, Girish Mahajan, Atul Bhatkhalkar, Parag Alavani, Harish Pimpale, Yogesh Sagar, Jay Kumar Rawat, Narayan Kuche, Ram Satpute and Bunty Bhangdia are among the 12 suspended members of the Board.
Anil Parab, minister of state for parliamentary affairs, proposed the resolution to suspend these MLAs, and was carried by voice vote.
