INN/Chennai, @Infodeaofficial
Tamil Nadu is still experiencing heavy rainfall today, which is seriously disrupting everything. Eleven districts, including the Nilgiris District’s Gudalur Taluks of Vellore, Tirupathur, Salem, Dharmapuri, Ranipet, Krishnagiri, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Tiruvanamalai, Villupuram, Puducherry, and Kotagiri, have been declared closed to schools and colleges.
Due to operational problems and increasing water levels, Southern Railway claimed that multiple express trains between Vikravandi and Mundiyampakkam were cancelled. Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Krishnagiri, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, and Dindigul are among the ten districts where the Chennai Meteorological Department predicts moderate rainfall through 10 AM today.
Paddy fields are flooded, and farmers are dealing with serious crop damage to both standing and harvested crops. Because of the widespread floods, there are severe worries regarding crop discolouration and production loss. Exams at Annamalai University and Chennai University have been put off indefinitely.
Local officials are keeping a careful eye on the situation and giving impacted people the support they need as the cyclone continues to have an impact on the area. During this severe weather event, residents are urged to remain vigilant, abide by local government regulations, and take the appropriate safety measures.
