Starting on October 5, the third season of the Tamil Nadu Robotics League (TRL) will be held by Propeller Technologies, a well-known brand in STEM education that is constantly pushing the envelope of creativity. Sponsored by SASTRA University as the knowledge partner and powered by Veranda Learning Solutions, the event was primarily sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS). In addition to highlighting the event’s importance in fostering student-driven innovation, PDG AKS Rtn Er M. Murugananandam, Rotary International Director (2025–27), presided over the ceremonial inauguration.
Over 5,000 children from 370 schools in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Telangana attended TRL-3, which was hosted at the National College in Trichy. This confirmed TRL-3’s status as a top venue for educating young people about science, technology, and robotics.
With the topic of “Space Exploration,” the 2024 competition pushed students to create and construct robots that could carry out missions and duties linked to space travel. Grouped into Junior, Senior, and Super Senior categories, participants demonstrated their creative technical problem-solving and inventive solutions to challenging space problems.
The tremendous response to this year’s league thrilled Mr. Aashik Rahman, CEO of Propeller Technologies, who said, “It is inspiring to see so many young talents come together with such enthusiasm.” Their creativity has been greatly sparked by the idea of space exploration, and the robots they have built exhibit a high degree of technical mastery and inventiveness. TRL is a reflection of Propeller Technologies’ ambition to encourage students’ creativity and curiosity.
In Tamil Nadu, Propeller Technologies has been leading the charge to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. Each year, the company partners with around 500 schools. The company wants to motivate the upcoming generation of scientists, engineers, and technicians via the Robotics League. Mr. Rahman continued, “We think that having practical experience is essential to learning. “We’re not just teaching students about robotics through initiatives like the Robotics League; we’re empowering them to think critically, collaborate, and solve real-world problems,” Mr. Rahman stated.
This idea was reiterated by Mr. Subramanyam Kantheti, CEO of Veranda K-12, which oversees BVM Global Schools. He emphasised the growing significance of STEM education. At BVM Global Schools, we’re committed to giving kids the tools they need to succeed in the quickly changing world of technology. Students can apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world circumstances through competitions like TRL-3, which fosters creativity and problem-solving skills that are essential for success in the future. We are honoured to be a part of an endeavour that encourages young people to explore STEM subjects and push the bounds of creativity.
