Rashtra Bhasha Hindi’s unifying role in an independent India was emphasised by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Shipping, Ports, and Waterways, was the main guest at the 83rd Convocation Ceremony of the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, which was held in Chennai today.
Top-performing students who performed very well in the Praveen and Visharad exams across a variety of categories were given gold medals and diplomas by the Union Minister. The Union Minister underlined in his speech the importance of Hindi as a unifying language and its role in the nation’s national unification and freedom struggle.
He stated that Mahatma Gandhi’s vision is fulfilled and energised by the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha. ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’ was emphasised by Sonowal, who also urged the audience to promote Hindi internationally. The minister also recognised academics who have made contributions to regional languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, during the convocation.
