HCAS conducts webinar on , “What to Study after + 2 “

The Hindustan College of Arts and Science conducted career and counseling of study options after + 2 post Corona today as webinar and Mr. Nanda Kumar IRS Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Government of India was host and Dr. S. Thirumagan Principal co-ordinated the session Many students who have written + 2 exams staff and students of HCAS participated
Dr. S. Thirumagan in his welcome address said Mr. Nanda Kumar is a talented government officer who succeeded in competitive exams to become one is apt to chair the session He thanked Director Dr. Susan Marthandan for arranging session with him
In his speech Mr. Nanda Kumar spoke broadly on courses available in Science liberal arts and commerce. He chose commerce and was oriented in writing government exams and he achieved what he wanted to in a short time. He says many who studied with him are envy of him of his achievements
He spoke of left side brain and right side brain and left side brain helps in creative pursuits and right side one helps in problem solving He spoke of various options in commerce as becoming CEO CFO and COO of a company if we chose it right and pursue with interest. He became a government servant because he had interest and aptitude and also spoke of management careers and study options
Science once if a person pursues can become a physicist or chemist and can work in DST and other departments of government if one has interest aptitude and qualify in government exam and while not ruling out teaching careers in schools and colleges
He spoke of liberal arts like English sociology political science and history and he said of English classes of his college. He used to attend although hardly few attended and it helped him in his Civil Service career. Government exams require English native language greatly and if one studies hard with interest he can qualify easily. He spoke of careers in social sciences and liberal arts in going to USA and know of a person who is successful there.
He said of three successive persons one like him qualified in English and competitive exam and become a successful government servant in top and second a graduate of English who writes sub titles for Hollywood films earning Rs. 2 lakh per month and third a physics graduate who is an entrepreneur whom he met on job who deals in sale of laser machines who is successfully exportin it to foreign countries as being three success stories
Dr. S. Thirumagan Principal HCAS thanking him for his time and wonderful speech said of HCAS courses in five school offering 18 under graduate programs. The school of computation studies offer BSc in Computer science BCA and school of business studies offering five undergraduate courses in BBA B Com and school of life sciences offering courses in BSc Bio Tech BSc Microbiology and BSc Electronic and Communication Science and school of Humanities offering courses in BA English and B SW and school of media sciences offering courses in BSc Visual Communication and BSc Electronic Media and MA Journalism and Communication
Dr. Thirumagan also said of HCAS alumni in leading careers in sciences arts and media studies recounted Vignesh Sivan a famous film director Mr. Srikanth an actor as being some. HCAS alumni is in NIOT and other scientific establishments across country and are contributing to success of nation besides enriching themselves.
It evoked wide participation and Dr. Thirumagan and Mr. Nandakumar parried questions followed by a lovely discussion as it was also on Face Book live You Tube Hindustan.
