The Indian Air Force practices for an aerial display near Chennai’s Marina Beach

Prior to the major event on October 6, the Indian Air Force (IAF) practiced for its impending Air Show above Marina Beach. This stunning display marks the third time IAF Day celebrations are being hosted outside Delhi and the first in South India, with Chennai’s famed Marina Beach as the backdrop.

The Indian Air Force is hoping to create history by becoming the airshow with the most attendance, with an estimated 1.5 million spectators. Seventy-two aircraft from different IAF bases, including Bengaluru, Thanjavur, Arakkonam, and Sulur, will participate in the event.

The Sarang Helicopter Display Team and the Suryakiran Aerobatics Team’s performances steal the show.
