Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh to inaugurate DefConnect 4.0

On October 7, 2024, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will officially launch DefConnect 4.0 in Delhi Cantt’s Manekshaw Centre. This is a momentous occasion that will celebrate the nation’s expanding military ecosystem and promote homegrown innovation. Under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Innovations for Defence Excellence – Defence Innovation Organisation (iDEX-DIO) is organising the event.

Bringing together the Armed Forces, Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), industry leaders, innovators, start-ups and MSMEs, universities, incubators, investors, and policymakers, DefConnect 4.0 represents a significant turning point in India’s defence innovation journey.

An innovative Technology Showcase will be held during the event, giving iDEX innovators a special chance to showcase their state-of-the-art technologies, cutting-edge skills, and innovative products. With an emphasis on creating strong partnerships, this showcase aims to engage a wide range of stakeholders by encouraging collaboration and igniting conversation that advances innovation.

In addition to interactive and captivating talks with prominent figures from the defence sector and industry experts, DefConnect 4.0 will include launches and announcements by Raksha Mantri. A thematic session centred on the most recent budget announcements, important lessons learnt for the defence innovation ecosystem, and the newest semiconductor-related projects will also be included in the event.

Over 9,000 applications have been received for the 11 rounds of the Defence India Start-up Challenges that iDEX has launched to date. It is actively working on significant projects with over 450 MSMEs and start-ups. Since its launch in 2018 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, iDEX has remained a unifying platform for different aerospace and defence industry players, supporting the goal of achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047.
