On its 92nd anniversary, the Indian Air Force treated the citizens of Chennai to an amazing airshow that went down in the Limca book of records. More than 15 lakh spectators witnessed the vibrant and captivating display of the country’s air warriors, featuring more than 72 aircraft.

People flocked to the entire coastline and the tops of high-rise buildings from Kovalam along the East Coast Road to Ennore to see the airshow, which was returning to the city after almost 21 years. One of the biggest air shows ever is this one.

As you may recall, Delhi used to host the yearly event for a considerable amount of time. Three years ago, the event was moved out of Delhi to provide people in other cities an opportunity as well. Chandigarh was the first city outside of Delhi to hold it, and Prayagraj did the same the previous year.

But when it comes to the scope of the performance and the number of enthusiastic spectators, Chennai is the largest. Seventy-two planes performed breathtaking manoeuvres, filling the sky with breathtaking sights. MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, attended the event as the principal guest along with other members of his cabinet. The massive ceremony was presided over by Air Chief Marshall Amar Preet Singh.
