A day after an Army jawan was killed in an encounter in the Saranwan area of the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, security personnel are now conducting a search and rescue operation to find terrorists.
The situation in the area is still heated, therefore reinforcements are being dispatched to the encounter location. Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, an Army jawan, was killed in action on Sunday while battling militants in the Kishtwar area. The White Knight Corps’ General Officer Commanding (GOC) and all ranks honoured the sacrifice of 2 Para (SF) member Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar in a post on X on Sunday.
The post stated: “On November 9, 2024, Sub Rakesh participated in a joint CT (counter-insurgency) operation that was initiated in the Kishtwar district’s Bhart Ridge general region. We support the bereaved family during this difficult time. Three to four terrorists are thought to be trapped in the Keshwan region, where a battle broke out on November 10 according to Jammu and Kashmir police.
In the meantime, Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, an army jawan who died in a gunfight between security forces and terrorists in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, was honoured yesterday by former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
Captain Amarinder Singh paid tribute to the army jawan and hoped for the three wounded soldiers’ quick recovery in a message that was posted on X. “Remembering the courage of Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, who gave his life while battling terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.” Sincere condolences to his loved ones and family. Your sacrifice will always be remembered. “I’m praying to Waheguru ji for the three wounded soldiers to recover quickly,” Captain Amarinder Singh wrote on X.
