The Indian Navy’s newest multi-role stealth guided missile frigate, INS Tushil, began her first operational deployment on December 17 when she sailed from Kaliningrad, Russia, to India. In the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the ship was put into service on December 9th after being constructed in Russia. The ship will make port stops at a number of friendly foreign nations as it travels across the Baltic Sea, North Sea, Atlantic Ocean, and finally the Indian Ocean.
The Indian Navy’s charter, which includes military, diplomatic, and law enforcement functions, would be involved in the first deployment of INS Tushil. Along the way, the ship will conduct combined patrols and maritime partnership exercises with several navies, including those in areas known for piracy.
The ship will engage in capability-building exercises with host Navies and engage with top military and government officials while in port. Additionally, the port calls will be used to interact with the Indian diaspora that is dispersed around the area.
The purpose of the port calls and drills is to strengthen the Indian Navy’s dedication to defending and preserving the seafaring community while also strengthening India’s maritime cooperation with the region’s littoral nations.
