INDIAN ARMY SPECIAL FORCES PRESENT IN INDONESIA FOR THE “GARUD SHAKTI” JOB EXERCISE

The 25-person Indian Army contingent is participating in the 9th India-Indonesia Joint Special Forces Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24 at Cijantung, Jakarta, Indonesia. The exercise will take place between November 1st and November 12th.

The Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) is representing the Indian contingent, while Indonesian Special Forces Kopassus is representing the 40-person Indonesian force.

Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24 aims to improve mutual understanding, cooperation, and interoperability between the Special Forces of both forces by introducing both sides to one another’s operational methods. By holding talks and practicing tactical military exercises, the exercise aims to improve the two armies’ relationship and foster bilateral military cooperation.

Planning and carrying out special operations, providing orientation to enhance special forces capabilities, and exchanging information on weapons, equipment, innovations, tactics, techniques, and procedures are all part of the exercise. In addition to gaining an understanding of the lifestyle and culture of both nations to promote military cooperation, Joint Exercise GARUD SHAKTI 24 entails practicing Special Forces Operations in jungle terrain, conducting strikes on terrorist camps, and conducting a validation exercise that integrates basic and advanced special forces skills.

The exercise gives both contingents a chance to deepen their relationship and exchange best practices. Additionally, it will serve as a platform to accomplish common security goals and promote bilateral ties between two friendly countries.
