INN/New Delhi, @Infodeaofficial
On October 5, 24 Indian Coast Guard Ship Veera and Indian Naval Ships Tir and Shardul from the First Training Squadron (1TS) of the Indian Navy landed in Muscat, Oman, for a long-term training assignment. The port call also represents a deepening of India and Oman’s current defence ties in the maritime arena.
The Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman will discuss a range of topics related to maritime security and interoperability, including harbour contacts and cooperative exercises, during the visit, which takes place from October 5 to October 9. In addition, the deployment will emphasise professional contacts, training exchanges, and friendly sporting matches between the two Navies. This is 1TS’s third tour to Muscat, Oman, in the past ten years. These exchanges are essential to maintaining the current alliances between the two Navies and solidifying progress made in naval cooperation.
From October 6 to October 9, Southern Naval Command’s Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, VAdm V Srinivas, will be in the Sultanate of Oman on official business. FOCINC South is scheduled to have bilateral talks with two key figures during the visit: VAdm Saif bin Nasser bin Mohsen Al-Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (CRNO), and VAdm Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (COSSAF). He will also tour important Omani training and defence facilities.
The Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman cooperate in a number of areas, including training, operations, and joint ventures. The sixth iteration of the staff talks between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman took place in New Delhi on June 24. The two friendly countries’ bilateral relations are further cemented by the visit of 1TS and the CinC, SNC.
