From December 15 to 18, Adm. Dinesh K. Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), will be in Indonesia for a four-day official visit. With an emphasis on strengthening naval cooperation, this visit is a part of continuous efforts to further solidify India-Indonesia bilateral defence ties in keeping with the growing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
General Agus Subiyanto, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces; Admiral Muhammad Ali, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy; and Lt Gen Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin (retd), Indonesia’s Defence Minister, are among the high-ranking Indonesian government and defence officials with whom the CNS is expected to have bilateral talks during the visit. A wide range of defence cooperation topics are anticipated to be covered in the talks, with a focus on maritime security, cooperative training programs, and potential ways to improve the two navies’ operational cooperation.
In line with the common goal of India-Indonesia Maritime Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, the visit highlights the two nations’ solid maritime ties. Joint drills, port visits, and capacity-building training programs are just a few of the activities that make up the two Navies’ current maritime cooperation. The 43rd India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol is currently patrolling the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) from December 10-18.
It is anticipated that Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi’s visits to Indonesia will deepen the relationship and cooperation between the two navies and guarantee improved cooperation in areas of shared interest.
