A magnificent farewell march was staged at Lachit Barphukan Ground

A spectacular passing out procession was held at the Lachit Borphukan procession ground in Dergaon, Assam’s Golaghat district, on Monday, marking the successful completion of training for 1,946 recruits from Manipur. The occasion was the end of a demanding 42-week training program that started on January 22, 2024.
At the event, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh thanked Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the Assam government for their assistance. In his speech, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, the governor of Assam and Manipur, urged the recruits to continue their commitment to societal welfare and to serve the country with zeal.
During the ceremony, the oath was also given to the recently appointed officers. A number of officers who performed exceptionally well during their training received prizes in recognition of their achievements.
Prominent dignitaries such as Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Member of Parliament Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Assam Police Director General G.P. Singh, and senior Assam Police Department personnel attended the ceremony. The recruits were formally acknowledged as fully qualified police officers, prepared to serve their communities, during this ceremony.
