On October 8, 2024, a massive 7,000-kilometer “Vayu Veer Vijeta” automobile parade is scheduled to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF) from Thoise in Ladakh to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. The march was warmly welcomed by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh on October 01, 2024, from the National War Memorial in New Delhi. On October 8, the rally was formally flagged off from Thoise, which is the world’s highest altitude air force station at 3,068 meters above mean sea level. October 29, 2024, is when the rally will come to an end at Tawang.
The rally, which is being arranged by the IAF in collaboration with the veterans of the Uttarakhand War Memorial, aims to inspire young people to serve their country by educating them about the valorous exploits of air warriors in various conflicts and rescue operations, as well as the illustrious history of the IAF. Former Air Force Chiefs will participate in various legs of this massive car rally, which will have fifty-two (52) air warriors, including women, behind the wheel. The 16 stops along the way will involve the air warriors interacting with students from different colleges and universities. The rally is being led and organised by the Adventure Cell of the IAF.
