NIA conducted several searches in different West Bengal districts

Tuesday saw numerous searches in different West Bengal districts by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with an alleged CPI (Maoist) plot to resurrect its presence in the Eastern Regional Bureau region.
At a total of 11 locations in the state’s districts of South 24 Pargana, Asansol, Howrah, Nadia, and Kolkata, NIA teams carried out comprehensive searches at the residences of suspects. The accused were CPI (Maoist) overground workers, and it was thought that they helped the organization’s leaders carry out Naxal operations.
Several damning documents, electronics, periodicals, pamphlets, and handwritten notes were seized as a result of today’s searches.
The case number RC-01/2022/NIA/RNC concerns a plot by members of the Central Committee, Polit Bureau members, and cadres of the outlawed terrorist organisation. The conspiracies goal is to spread the CPI (Maoist) philosophy throughout the northern and eastern states of India, including Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and others.
Six people have been charged in this case so far, including Sabyasachi Goswami of the Central Committee and Prashant Bose and Pramod Mishra of the CPI (Maoist) Polit Bureau. The complaint was filed in April 2022 at the NIA Police Station in Ranchi and was filed under various sections of the IPC and the UA(P) Act.
The FIR included the names of thirteen prominent CPI (Maoist) leaders in addition to others. Six people have been charged in this case so far, including Sabyasachi Goswami of the Central Committee and Prashant Bose and Pramod Mishra of the CPI (Maoist) Polit Bureau.
