IN THE CHHATTISGARH CPI (MAOIST) ARMS SUPPLY CASE, NIA ARRESTS TWO MORE
INN/New Delhi, @Infodeaofficial
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday detained two additional important suspects who had ties to the plot, marking a significant development in the Chhattisgarh case concerning the transfer of weapons and ammunition to Maoist fighters of the outlawed CPI.
With the apprehension of Sudhir Tripathi and Suraj Nishad, who are both residents of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, the case RC-01/2023/NIA/RPR now has six arrests overall. Following the seizure of the weapons and ammunition by the local police, who had first filed the case under many sections of the Arms Act, UA(P)A, and IPC, four of the accused were taken into custody in January 2023.
Both Sudhir and Suraj were discovered to be actively involved in the delivery of weapons and ammunition from the UP to the CPI (Maoist) in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh by the NIA, which assumed control of the probe in January of this year. They were in constant communication with each other and, according to ongoing NIA investigations, had jointly plotted to give the terrorist organisation that is outlawed logistical support.
