In a remarkable development, four Bangladeshi infiltrators were captured by the Assam Police and sent back across the border.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Bangladeshis are still entering Assam and India while updating social media users on the situation. He added that the Assam Police had returned the four people who had been arrested—Md. Jahangir, Md. Hussain, Rumana, and Nucadia Bibi.
In an effort to block any attempt at infiltration, security has been strengthened in border areas of Bangladesh following the upheaval and subsequent change of government.
Furthermore, it has been discovered that smugglers and infiltrators frequently visit border districts like Karimganj, Dhubri, South Salmara, and Cachar in attempt to get into India. The Border Police Force has been placed on high alert to stop any infiltration into the state due to the border areas’ vulnerability.
