INN/Hyderabad, @Infodeaofficial

After a successful 20-day operation in Rajasthan, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TCSB) has apprehended 27 cybercriminals and seized substantial evidence pertaining to their illicit operations. Targeted by the operation, which took place in the districts of Jayapura, Nagaur, and Jodhpur, was a cyber gang that had been scamming people all over India, with 189 of those cases being recorded in Telangana alone.

The accused individuals were part of a complex scam in which 29 fictitious bank accounts were used to launder almost ₹11 crore through the use of stolen identities. Their strategy involved developing fictitious internet personas and taking advantage of weaknesses to obtain financial and personal information.

Director Shikha Goyal said, “This operation highlights the TCSB’s commitment to proactively combatting cybercrime and safeguarding citizens.” The gang used isolated villages as a base of operations to escape detection, but our team’s tenacity and specialised knowledge allowed us to take down this network with ease.

A substantial amount of evidence was recovered during the operation, including:

* Thirty-one cell phones; thirty-seven SIM cards; thirteen ATM cards; two hard discs; seven chequebooks

Director Goyal issued a warning to the public to exercise caution and not to click on dubious websites in order to avoid becoming a victim of cybercrimes.
