MOP College conducts  Yuva Sammaan Award

MOP College for women, Chennai conducted a felicitation ceremony called Yuva Sammaan Award on its campus recently. Addressing the gathering, chief guest Mridula Ramesh, founder of the Sundaram Climate Institute and executive director of Sundaram Textiles Ltd, said, “You need to identify your skills which is within you and the day you identify your skills and start loving it, no one can stop you to reach sky high.”

Encouraging the girl students, she said that it is very important for them to create a different identity of themselves in the society. Globalization, advancement in technology and man-made machines have already created unemployment in traditional job sectors. Thus, it is necessary that for everyone to be aware of the new technology and it’s advancement. Finally, it this knowledge will help them to become an entrepreneur.

Later, the chief guest Mridula Ramesh conferred Yuva Sammaan Award on three women achievers, social entrepreneur Kirthi Jayakumar, founder of The Red Elephant Foundation, Carnatic vocalist K. Dharini, and National Sabre Fencer C.A Bhavani Devi were presented with M O P Yuva Sammaan Awards. Each received a citation and Rs 1 lakh in order to encourage them to pursue their journey of excellence.
