This specialized program is designed to address modern challenges in bridge design, construction, and maintenance. It provides hands-on training, exposure to advanced techniques such as structural health monitoring and finite element analysis, and industry-aligned electives, including Prestressed Concrete, Cable-Supported Bridges, and Advanced Concrete Technology. M.Tech. in Drone and Anti-Drone Technologies:  Recognizing the growing significance of autonomous aerial systems, IIT Jodhpur is introducing a specialized M.Tech. program in Drone and Anti-Drone Technologies under the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Drones are rapidly transforming sectors like defense, surveillance, disaster management, logistics, agriculture, and urban mobility, while counter-drone technologies are becoming increasingly vital for national security and defense.

The program offers a comprehensive curriculum covering drone aerodynamics, structural mechanics, propulsion systems, dynamics and control, AI and machine learning for drone applications, and machine vision. A unique feature of this program is the hands-on lab component, where students will assemble drones from scratch, analyze components, compute performance metrics, and conduct flight tests. This immersive experience bridges the gap between theory and practice, providing students with deep system-level insights into drone technology. Restructured M.Tech. Programs for Stronger Research Focus

IIT Jodhpur has restructured its M.Tech. programs to strengthen the research ecosystem, offering a blend of fundamental and advanced courses in the first two semesters, followed by a dedicated M.Tech. thesis in the final two semesters. Students will begin their research journey in the summer semester, immediately after completing their first year, ensuring an early start to impactful research.

With an emphasis on hands-on learning and multidisciplinary innovation, IIT Jodhpur’s M.Tech. programs are designed to empower students in fields such as intelligent process optimization, data analytics, Industry 4.0 technologies, and sustainable infrastructure. The institute’s state-of-the-art labs, Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) fabrication facility, and Centre of Excellence in AI-based Precision Healthcare create an ecosystem where students engage in interdisciplinary research and industry collaboration.
