Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, said today that he is confident India would blow the world away with its artificial intelligence capabilities in the coming years. At their Mumbai AI Summit India, he was having a fireside talk with Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia. The chairman went on to say that India will rank among the largest markets for intelligence, and that intelligence will be driven by the country’s youthful population.
Huang announced during the discussion that Reliance and Nvidia would form a cooperation to construct and advance AI infrastructure in India. He claimed that India has a great chance to have a sizable population and a sizable number of computer engineers.
According to Ambani, the Hindi word “Vidya,” which means knowledge, is connected to the company’s name, Nvidia. He underlined that India now has the best digital connectivity infrastructure outside of the US and China. He added that the goal is to replicate Jio for intelligence in a way that is accessible and affordable for the average person. The Chairman also praised Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, for making Llama open source.
According to Jenson, PM Narendra Modi informed him during their previous meeting that it makes perfect sense for India to produce its own artificial intelligence. He also mentioned that India shouldn’t export data in order to import intelligence, any more than it should export grain in order to import bread.
